too bloody loud

January 16, 2014

the sound is almost always too loud whether the theatre is full or not. A full theatre absorbs some sound but they don't adjust the sound if the theatre is almost empty. Just because you can make my hair blow back with your sound system doesn't mean you should. I used to like going here as it is a cool theatre but not anymore.

Flashlights Should Be Banned

October 07, 2013

A while back, employees started entering with flashlights during the film. They walked across the front, flashed the light on some timetable on the wall and walked back out. This happened 2 to 4 times per screening. After the third time I experienced this, I asked management why it was happening. I was told it was to "keep the crowd from getting rowdy." Bringing lights into a darkened theatre is terribly distracting. To have management do it on purpose is ridiculous. I stopped going to this theatre after that encounter, and I haven't been back since.

Worst experience ever

February 27, 2022

Hello, I went to the Scotiabank Cineplex centre. It was the worst experience I have had. The seats weren’t clean and there was a lot of garbage left under the seat and in the cup holder as well. I got a drink for myself and I was told I could refill it. When I went outside there was Corey and he was very rude to me. I told him I’m anemic and I need to fill my drink if possible. He refused to open the drinking machine ( all he had to put was a password) this is horrible. I was extremely dehydrated and literally felt horrible. He told me go put your mouth near the tap and have it from the water fountain I can’t do anything. Is this how you treat your guests? I would appreciate if someone could contact me about this..

Poor experience, shady staff

September 03, 2023

I left my wallet in one of the seat cup-holders on my way out, last person out of the theatre ($500 + All my ID’s & barking cards). Came back later to look for it and the seats had been cleaned. When asking management for assistance they told me to check my seat (which had been cleaned and wallet was missing). I asked to speak with the cleaners and described them, they refused to have their staff come up and insisted they found nothing, regardless of the situation. After leaving my information & filing a police report, no management followed up with me and a day later I got an alert that someone attempted to use my card a block from the theatre. Extremely unprofessional and obstructive practices when following up on what appears to be stolen property and critical information.
