Alyssa Milano refuses move to Vancouver

By Tribute on October 2, 2014 | 9 Comments

Alyssa-Milano-creditAlyssa Milano has left the ABC show Mistresses after production was moved from Los Angeles to Vancouver. In a note on her website, the former child star explained she didn’t want to uproot her family. “It’s with a heavy heart that I have decided that I can’t relocate,” Alyssa wrote. “I have two babies under four. Being a mother and wife comes first and I just cannot uproot my children and separate the family by moving away.” She has two children with her husband David Bugliari – son Milo, three, and daughter Elizabella, born just last month.

The move to Vancouver, according to Alyssa, was due to “financial reasons.” Mistresses was recently renewed for a third season. There has been no word yet how the show will precede without its top-billed star. The former Charmed star, however, has no ill will towards the cast and crew, concluding her goodbye message with: “I will miss this job desperately and wish everyone the absolute best.” ~Kelly Townsend

Alyssa is my favourite on the show. I don’t know if Misstresses will survive without her. She will be hugely missed.

If the kids are not yet school age, I don’t know why, for a few months of the year while they’re filming, they can’t live in another city. Every other actor/performer does it, even when their kids are school age. Must be her husband who doesn’t want to move.

    Nat,

When she said that the move was for financial reasons, I’m sure she was talking about the show and not herself.

I’m not a parent but I can imagine it would be a very hard thing indeed to move away from friends and family, the support network she would most need, as she adjusts to being a mother of two children.
