It may not be apparent through the make-up and outrageous costumes, but KISS bassist Gene Simmons grew up a nerd. Known now as a "Jack of all Trades," it's no surprise that  Simmons wants to jump back into the comic book game. It's clear to anyone who's seen his show, Gene Simmons Family Jewels, that he's extended himself into as many different businesses and products as possible. That may explain why he's part of not one, but three projects featured at this year's Comic-Con. Simmons will be attending Comic-Con with a second Archie/KISS mashup, IDW'S KISS comic book series and a relaunch of the Simmons Comics Group with Arcana Comics. With the wide-spreading popularity of all things "nerdy," from The Big Bang Theory to the new Spider-Man and Batman installations, Simmons may have been right when he said that in regards to the war of the unpopular vs. the popular, he's won. He told USA Today: "In simple terms, we've won," Simmons says. "When I was growing up, they used to make fun of us: 'Oh, that comic-book funny-animal stuff.'" ~Morgan Bates
