Surprise cameo filmed for The Wolverine

By Tribute on May 9, 2013 | 7 Comments

X-Men: Days of Future Past just started filming a couple of weeks ago in Montreal and it’s not the only mutant film generating buzz. According to Joblo, 20th Century Fox shot a new scene for The Wolverine this past weekend. A brief warning before you continue reading: spoilers ahead. The airport scene was shot last Sunday and reportedly featured two members of the X-Men: Wolverine (Hugh Jackman) and Professor Charles Xavier (Sir Patrick Stewart)! Its place in the film isn’t yet known but it could possibly be tagged on after the credits. The Wolverine is essentially a sequel to X-Men: The Last Stand and for those who have seen the third X-Men movie, Xavier’s return is a little eyebrow-raising. Xavier isn’t the only one who makes a brief return in Wolverine’s solo flick – Famke Janssen also shot scenes as Jean Grey. No additional details have so far been revealed about Professor X’s role in the film or its connection to X-Men: Days of Future Past (if there is one). Nevertheless, 20th Century Fox is starting to tantalize fans with posters, trailers, and images from The Wolverine and, as it stands, the film will still be released July 26 despite the shooting of the extra scene. ~ Cassie Jasinski

Really looking forward to this one coming out. Not too many trailers though please. Ruins the fun of the film

I can’t wait to see it. I do hope it’s better than the last.

Time travel = Past Xavier and Grey return to present.

Anyway, Jackman says this is the last Wolverine movie he’ll ever do, so the series is over until Chris Nolan gets his hands on it. Maybe he can turn it into a GOOD movie franchise, and not just a profiteable one.

Jean is dead, no debating it so don’t even second guess that. It’s just Wolverine’s head playing tricks on him. Read any Wolverine comic relating to his past in some way and there will be at least one scene like that.

The Wolverine, from what i have read, is not a sequel to The Last Stand, it still earlier in James’ life, still before his time with the X-Men…
Jean and Charles could be there to try and recruit him again, like Charles and Erik did in First Class…

The Wolverine is definitely set after X Men 3. Part of the premise is that Logan is dealing with the events of The Last Stand, mainly the fact he had to kill Jean.

Not surprising if it Prof Xavier since he’s alive at the end of last stand after the end credits
