Johnny DeppAll aboard the star-studded Orient Express!

Johnny Depp, Judi Dench, Daisy Ridley, Michelle Pfieffer, and Michael Peña have all signed on to lead the cast in the upcoming film adaptation of Agatha Christie’s Murder on the Orient Express.

Directed by Kenneth Branagh, the all-star ensemble flick will also feature Lucy Boynton (Sing Street), Tom Bateman (Jekyll and Hyde TV series),  Hamilton star Leslie Odom Jr. and British actor Derek Jacobi.

Based on Christie’s classic 1934 novel, the film details a mysterious murder on board the famous Orient Express. Belgian detective Hercule Poirot, whom Branagh will be portraying, is tasked with solving the case that offers up many suspects among the train’s passengers.

“Christie’s ‘Murder’ is mysterious, compelling, and unsettling,” Branagh said. “I’m honored to have this fantastic group of actors bring these dark materials to life for a new audience.”

Production on the film will begin in November. ~Shelby Morton
