A year after the events of the first Venom (2018), as journalist Eddie Brock (Tom Hardy) continues to adjust to his new symbiotic relationship with Venom, it becomes apparent that his innate aggression is becoming harder to control.
The problem is exacerbated when Eddie goes to interview infamous serial killer Cletus Kasady (Woody Harrelson), who surprises him with a quick bite that draws blood. On Kasady's execution bed, Eddie's blood, which contains a portion of the symbiote, comes to life and bonds with Kasady. The new evil entity dubs itself Carnage and begins to unleash havoc on San Francisco, with only Eddie and Venom capable of stopping this new threat.
