Country star Mindy McCready and son reported missing

Country singing star Mindy McCready and her five-year-old son Zander were listed as missing persons after she picked him up from her father’s house in Florida on Tuesday night. However, McCready says despite reports, they’re not missing and are both safe. She sent an email to Access Hollywood yesterday that read: “I am working with lawyers to try to get all this straightened out. I did not steal my child, as it would be impossible for me to kidnap what already belongs to me! There never was any missing persons report and never an Amber Alert.”  However, the Department of Children and Families said a missing persons report was filed in Florida when McCready did not return with her son. Her parents have primary legal custody of Zander, though McCready, who has a history of alcohol abuse and once tried to commit suicide by cutting her wrists and taking an overdose of pills, has visitation rights. A judge has ordered McCready to return the boy by Thursday night.
