Barbara Walters has released a list that includes seven of her 10 Most Fascinating People of 2011: the Kardashians (she’s obviously counting them as one person), X-Factor judge Simon Cowell, Modern Family‘s Jesse Tyler Ferguson and Eric Stonestreet (these guys also apparently count as one person), Derek Jeter of the New York Yankees, Donald Trump, Katy Perry and Pippa Middleton (pictured at left). The Number One Most Fascinating Person of 2011 will be announced on Barbara Walters Presents: The 10 Most Fascinating People of 2011, which will air as a 90-minute ABC News special highlighting some of the year’s most prominent names in entertainment, sports and popular culture Wednesday, December 14 on ABC-TV. How about including someone who actually does something to improve the world? I like Pippa but what did she do besides show up at her sister’s wedding in a sexy dress? As for Kardashians and Simon Cowell, forget it. Cowell sure doesn’t help the self esteem of people, most of them young, I expect. I guess Barbara is now an entertainer and promotes those in that field.

Barbara, senility has set in. How can the Kardashians be interesting. These are people that are basicly shallow and only look for publicity which you seem to be only too willing to give them. They should be ignored as they provide nothing other than glory seeking hounds. Let’s just ignore them. Kim Kardashian’s escapades in the sacred marital arena are shameful. I guess the real Most Fascinating People of 2011 were either to mad at Barbara or unable to attend her show so Barbara got stuck having to go down (way, way down) her list of celebrities (if that’s what you want to call them). Sorry Barbara, as I’m not interested in seeing them in their pathetic shows, I’m not interested in seeing them in yours either.

@David: hahaa, hilarious!! Has it occurred to anyone that Barbara Walters is probably senile? The integrity of her show (believe it or not it was better before) has really changed over the decades and she is now no different from the ilk of celeb-studded shows, and her questions are really stupid.
These people are fascinating to the same extent a car wreck’s fascinating.
