Dick Van Dyke, 87, narrowly escaped death yesterday after a good Samaritan rescued him from his flaming Jaguar, according to TMZ. At around 2 p.m., a man named Jason Pennington spotted smoke coming from Van Dyke’s vehicle as he was driving on the Los Angeles freeway. Pennington pulled over to the car that Van Dyke was struggling to escape and managed to save him just before the flames engulfed it. Although he was disorientated, the comic actor did not require any medical attention. His wife arrived moments later to take him home, while his car was left destroyed. Van Dyke later poked fun at his ordeal by tweeting a photo of his burnt car, with the comment: “Used Jag for sale REAL CHEAP!!” ~Alfonso Espina
