Fans push for Betty White to host SNL

Betty WhiteShe may be 88 years old, but Betty White‘s career is going just as strong as when she won Emmy awards (six in total) for her work on television shows such as the Mary Tyler Moore Show and Golden Girls.  She recently stoles several scenes from Sandra Bullock in The Proposal and got big laughs in a high-profile Snickers commercial that aired during the Super Bowl. Now, some of White’s biggest fans are have started a Facebook group called Betty White to Host SNL (please?)!  The group, which currently has over 150,000 members, wrote Saturday Night Live creator Lorne Michaels asking, “What would it take to get you to invite Betty White to be a guest host on ‘SNL’? She is brilliant, funny, witty and a comedic genius and legend. I have little doubt that it would be a ratings hit.” Meanwhile, while we wait to see whether Michaels invites White to host the live show, the actress can be seen on the big screen this fall in the comedy You Again opposite Kristen Bell and Sigourney Weaver. ~Alexandra Heilbron
