The highly anticipated film adaption of the erotic novel Fifty Shades of Grey by EL James has finally found a director—Sam Taylor-Johnson, whose directorial debut was 2009’s Nowhere Boy. Rumors have been circulating about a possible director ever since Universal Pictures and Focus Features snagged rights to the film back in March 2012. In the running were Gus Van Sant, Susanne Bier and Joe Wright. Taylor-Johnson is a surprising choice, because other than Nowhere Boy, her only directorial experiences have been shorts, including the 2008 Cannes short film entitled Love You More. The Fifty Shades of Grey script, based on the bestselling novel, was written by fellow Brit Kelly Marcel and follows the relationship between college student Anastasia Steele and billionaire Christian Grey. Along with James, Dana Brunetti and Michael De Luca are producing. “Sam’s unique ability to gracefully showcase complex relationships dealing with love, emotion and sexual chemistry make her the ideal director to bring Christian and Anastasia’s relationship to life,” said De Luca. “EL James’ characters and vivid storytelling require a director who is willing to take risks and push the envelope where needed, and Sam is a natural fit.” ~Naomi Leanage

Fifty Shades of Grey star Dakota Johnson has broken up with her boyfriend of two years, singer Matthew Hitt. Click to find out why the two broke up and to voice your thoughts on the couple’s split.
Is she the mother of Aaron Taylor-Johnson of Kick-Ass fame?
The wife
They met when she directed him in Nowhere Boy. She’s something like 23 years older than him (he just turned 23, he plays a teenager in Kick-Ass) and they have two kids together.
She doesn’t have that much experience as a movie director… I guess you don’t need to have a lot when it’s just for a “mommy porn” flick.
I have not read the books. My understanding is that they are basically pornographic….aren’t there certain movies like that out there already??? I’m just sayin.
I guess if I went to see this I’d have to be wrapped in a brown paper bag. Big budget porn? Are they kidding?
