The Expendables 3 star Harrison Ford, 71, is improving after undergoing surgery on his broken leg. The actor was airlifted to hospital last week after he was crushed by a hydraulic door at the Pinewood Studios in England while filming
Star Wars: Episode VII. His representative said in a statement: ''Harrison Ford's left leg was broken in an accident. His surgery was successful and he will begin rehab shortly. He's doing well and looks forward to returning to work.'' However, a source close to Harrison - who plays Han Solo in the Disney sci-fi franchise - believes it could be a while before the star is able to return to filming because he needs to spend at least a month in
rehab. The source told
Us Magazine: ''It's really unfortunate. He's been working so hard at this movie, he's pushed himself too hard. It sounds like he'll probably be rehabbing for a month or month and a half.'' Meanwhile, bosses insist filming for the movie, which is set for release in December 2015, will continue as planned while Harrison recuperates.
