To Karyn… from reading the books and a little ‘reading between the lines’, Voldemort has become more snake than human. This is as a result of his long attachment to Nagini(his familiar and confidant – in more ways than one) and the rebirth method that was used to bring him back from a disembodied existence in Goblet of Fire.

As a result of his kinship to snakes (particularly as he is a Parselmouth – able to talk to snakes) his face has become distorted to a snake visage.
