Henry Cavill to return as Superman in Man of Steel 2

Man of Steel starring Henry Cavill as Superman was the film that kicked off the DCEU, but despite being released almost 10 years ago, a sequel was never announced. Sure, the character was seen in the ensemble pics Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and Justice League, but there was never an actual sequel with Superman as the main character, despite fans calling for Henry Cavill’s return.
According to a report from The Hollywood Reporter on October 17, Warner Bros. Discovery CEO David Zaslav and Warner Bros. Pictures producers Michael De Luca and Pam Abdy have finally convinced Cavill to reprise his role as Superman in Man of Steel 2. However, fans will need to be patient — the film is in the very early stages of development, with Warner Bros. currently looking for a writer — and a director.
In the meantime, DCEU fans can enjoy the upcoming Black Adam starring Dwayne Johnson when it arrives in theaters this weekend, while Henry Cavill can be seen playing Sherlock Holmes in Enola Holmes 2 on Netflix starting November 4, 2022. Cavill has also completed the third season of the popular Netflix series The Witcher, which will begin airing in 2023. ~Alexandra Heilbron

Netflix has plenty of new offerings in June 2023, including new seasons of hit shows such as The Witcher, plus the film Extraction 2 starring Chris Hemsworth.
Apparently the Rock is taking credit for this. The story goes, The DC movie boss said no to Cavill. The Rock went to the actual top dogs and got Cavill back. This is awesome. He’s not getting any younger and he IS superman for this generation of fans. I’m excited to see MS2.
I just hope that the show out in theatres and not start by going diretly to Disney+, Netflix, or any other specialty channel.
Ya the Rock wants Black Adam vs Superman so the Rock gets Man of Steel2 which will then be followed by Superman vs Black Adam I am sure.
Its about time. Cavill has repeatedly said he would love to reprise the role of Superman. Its Warner Bros that didn’t. Glad they changed their minds.
I simply don’t understand why there is such a lot of chatter online about “black Adam versus Superman “, like they’re natural enemies. Certainly, Black Adam versus Shazam is the obvious pairing
