Hotel Transylvania #1 at weekend box office

By Tribute on October 1, 2012 | 7 Comments

This weekend’s box office round up finds computer-animated comedy Hotel Transylvania taking the top spot, raking in an impressive $43 million. Produced by and starring Adam Sandler, Tribute.ca users gave this monster resort show a 5 star rating on its debut weekend. Coming in second place is Rian Johnson’s sci-fi action flick Looper with $21.2 million. Johnson works again with his Brick lead Joseph Gordon-Levitt, whose youthful portrayal of co-star Bruce Willis is what Gordon-Levitt claims to be his most transformative role yet. Looper receives a commendable 4 out of a possible 5 star rating at Tribute.ca. Found-footage police procedural film End of Watch falls from last week’s first place spot to take third this week, but its user rating sees a boost from 3.8  to 4.2 stars and makes $8 million. Bringing in $7.5 million is the baseball scout drama Trouble with the Curve, holding on to its positive 4.1 star rating in fourth place, dropping one spot since last week. Rounding out the top five is last week’s second place film — horror-thriller House at the End of the Street, making an additional $7.1 million and earning 4.2 stars at Tribute.ca. ~Brandon Bastaldo

Animated movies take tons of time and effort to put together…I think it’s always nice when they come out on top cause they really deserve it!
