CBS is NOT rehiring Charlie Sheen for Two and a Half Men

By Alexandra Heilbron on March 23, 2011 | 5 Comments

There is no truth to reports by many media outlets that CBS is trying to get Charlie Sheen back on the sitcom Two and a Half Men, in spite of his outrageous comments against the series creator Chuck Lorre and his co-star, Jon Cryer. According to TMZ, Warner Bros. hired and then fired Sheen, and only they can rehire him. However, they have no plans to do so after Sheen’s recent behavior and attacks against Lorre, calling him “a contaminated little maggot” and challenging him to a fist fight. Sheen will not be returning to the show and Warner Bros. has not even announced whether the show will be back for another season. Although Sheen had a meeting with Fox network to discuss the possibility of him hosting a late night talk show, the meeting lasted only an hour without either side coming to any decision. Meanwhile, although the restraining order taken out by Brooke Mueller against Sheen has been lifted,  he will have to submit to an exam by a psychologist before he’ll be granted any sort of joint custody or visitation with his three year-old twin boys, Max and Bob.

Interesting. I think the studio has shot themselves in the foot. All of this publicity surrounding Sheen right now must be spiking sales of DVD box sets as well as ratings for the re-runs. I heard that a re-run shortly after all this started was one of the most watched episodes of the show ever. For me it would make a lot of sense to bring him back so long as Sheen is forced into signing adequate contract stipulations.

i think Emilio Estevez would be a great replacement. he has the same deadpan sense of humor and charlie, without the drugs, aliens, and porn stars lol

I think one of your ads caused my web browser to resize, you may well want to put that on your blacklist.
I just added this webpage to my feed reader, excellent stuff. Cannot get enough!
This is a fantastic web page, might you be involved in doing an interview about how you created it? If so e-mail me!
Thanks, I’ve been searching for facts about this subject for ages and yours
is the best I’ve discovered so far.
