Jackie Chan is adding a little more singing and dancing to his life. Previously expressing his love of musicals such as The Sound of Music, the 59-year-old actor is now working on turning his own life into one. The iconic action star and martial artist announced at a New York press conference that he’s planning to develop his 1998 memoir, I Am Jackie Chan: My Life in Action, into a stage production. “We are looking for a director for the musical right now. It’s all very exciting,” Chan told reporters. He will serve as the narrator of the show, telling the story of his childhood, the life of his parents, his education and rise to stardom, through music. The Rush Hour star’s been keeping busy; in addition to the musical and lineup of films coming up (Skiptrace, The Expendables 3) Chan has also confirmed that he’s working on the sequel to his first autobiography, which is tentatively called I Am Still Jackie Chan. “The original book was 15 years ago, and my career has been very, very exciting and interesting since then,” he said. ~Naomi Leanage
