Johnny Depp performs at charity concert

Johnny Depp in concertIs there no limit to Johnny Depp‘s goodness? His latest good deed (previous heroic acts have included saving the lives of background actors, helping a teenage girl in a coma, keeping a promise to a young fan and giving his paycheck to Matilda Ledger after she lost her father) has been to reunite with his former high school band, The Kids, to play a charity concert in South Florida. The group performed for a full 90 minutes in front of a crowd of 2,800 fans. Depp, who plays guitar and sings back up, dedicated the show to the group’s late manager Sheila Witkin. The Kids (including Depp) moved from Florida to Los Angeles to try to make it big in the early 1980s, but disbanded when Depp began making it big as an actor. Proceeds from the concert will go to the Dan Marino Foundation, which helps children with special needs.
