As moviegoers roll out of the holiday season and get back to the daily grind, the box office continues to see last week’s films in the top five. One new horror film Insidious: The Last Key made its debut this weekend and scared its way into the top five. Which film did you see this weekend?
Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle kicked Star Wars from the top spot to become the box office champ this weekend in its third week in theaters. The film earned $37.2 million. It has a rating of 4 stars from our users.
New horror film Insidious: The Last Key debuted in theaters with a weekend take of $29.6 million and securing the second spot. Our users are enjoying the film, giving it a rating of 3.8 stars out of 5. The film follows paranormal investigator Elise Rainier (Lin Shaye), who teams up with Specs (Leigh Whannell) and Tucker to return to her hometown in New Mexico to confront a demon that has been haunting her.
Star Wars: The Last Jedi took the third spot in its fourth weekend in theaters. The film made $23.7 million this past weekend. Our users are enjoying the film, giving it a rating of 3.8 stars out of 5.
Taking the fourth spot was The Greatest Showman. The film earned $13.8 million in its second weekend in theaters. Our users are enjoying the film and have given it a rating of 3.7 out of 5 stars.
