Kate Winslet, Penélope Cruz and Sean Penn will present Oscars at the 2010 Academy Awards. The trio, who won Best Actress, Best Supporting Actress and Best Actor respectively at last year’s ceremony, were announced as the first presenters of the 82nd annual event. Their appointment follows in the Academy’s tradition of having the previous year’s winners giving out accolades. It is not known who will present the Best Supporting Actor award, as the 2009 winner Heath Ledger was presented with the accolade posthumously. Last year, Oscar organizers kept presenter details secret in a bid to increase “viewer interest.” They also tried to add elements of surprise by having the acting awards presented by groups of five past winners, but that is not expected to be repeated this year. The 82nd Academy Awards will be presented on Sunday, March 7, at the Kodak Theatre in Hollywood.
