Twilight fan Gisela Gagliardi, 53, was killed yesterday morning outside the San Diego Convention Center. Gagliardi had been camping out since Sunday, keeping a place in line in order to attend the Comic-Con panel for Breaking Dawn – Part 2. She was crossing the street on the way back to her spot when an unidentified driver hit her, knocking her unconscious. Police reported that Gagliardi saw the oncoming car, tried to stop, but tripped and fell in front of it. She was bleeding from the head when she was rushed to hospital, where she later died. The entire Twilight cast and Twilight community mourn her tragic death. Ashley Greene tweeted, “I’m so sorry to hear the devastating news about Gisella G. My thoughts and prayers are with her family and friends.”
Nikki Reed also tweeted in response, saying, “This is horrible. So sad. I’m speechless.” The 67-year-old driver of the car was questioned, but not charged. Police say the driver had a green light and did not appear to be at fault. The panel discussion at Comic-Con, which is to be held today, features actors from the upcoming Twilight film, as well as exclusive sneak-peek footage. In response to Gagliardi’s death, fans have begun to circulate a petition to have a moment of silence for her at the panel. ~Isabelle Khoo

Terrible story…
Rather unfortunate and sad. 🙁 My condolences to the Gagliardi family.
I’m really sorry for this lady and her family for their loss. But what has her accident to do with Twilight? Whether this lady was rushing to get back to her spot in the Comic-Con line or if she was rushing to get back in line at Starbuck. It was a sad and unfortunate accident. Many people are injured or killed by car accidents every year…every day…Unfortunately.
