The Noel Diary – When best-selling author Jake Turner (Justin Hartley) returns to his childhood home at Christmas to settle his mother’s estate and clean out her house, he discovers a diary in a box marked personal. He puts it aside without reading it, not realizing that it holds secrets to his own past and that of Rachel — a young woman who shows up at his door — looking for her birth mother. Debuts November 24 on Netflix.
The Good House – Hildy Good (Sigourney Weaver) is a wry New England realtor and descendant of the Salem witches. Her life begins to unravel as she rekindles a romance with her old high-school flame, Frank (Kevin Kline), and becomes dangerously entwined in one person’s reckless behavior. Silly man. There is a terrible history in my bio genes of Stroke, Cancer, Leukaemia, Chronic Arthritis. I’m 72 & so far have had NONE of these to any great extent. I have a “touch” of Arthritis in one finger of one hand & a bit in one hip and I did inherit the Diabetes but not until very late in life — late 50’s. Arthritis cripple my father & he died full of Cancer & his mother was also full of Arthritis but she lived to be 100 living her life & around & out & about & had all of her marbles right to the end, along with a wonderful sense of humour. To let the fear of what MIGHT be cripple him & abstain from his acting career & crumple up into a corner of self pity is just foolish. There is NO guarantee he’ll get Alzheimers and even so — he’s young and there will most likely soon be a cure or prevention for that one. They’ve already made great leaps of progress regarding Alzheimers.
If he truly believes he is doomed to get it — then all the more reason he should GET ON IT & earn as much money as he is able to while he can. Now is not the time to let himself disintegrate & sink into a bog of self pity.
