Will Smith slaps Ukrainian reporter

Will Smith smacked a Ukrainian television reporter after he tried to kiss him during the Moscow premiere of Men In Black 3. As Will walked down red carpet, Vitalii Sediuk approached, giving him a big hug followed by an attempted kiss. Will quickly gave him a dirty look then proceeded to push him and slapped his face with the back of his hand while saying, “What the hell is your problem.” As Will continued to walk down the red carpet he apologized to other reporters and fans saying, “Sorry, he tried to kiss me on my mouth, joker. He’s lucky I didn’t sucker punch him.” Vitalii, who reports for channel 1 + 1, made headlines back in September after giving Madonna a purple hydrangea and calling her ‘My Princess.’ Madonna also didn’t enjoy the encounter with the reporter and said she absolutely loathed hydrangeas. She later made a silent video called Madonna’s love letter to hydrangeas. ~Krystin Edgerton

Yeah, it just looked like he was trying to kiss him on the cheeks. It’s a custom in some countries, Will should try to educate himself if he’s going to travel overseas.

that wasn’t even a real slap. i’ve seen 90 year old women slap dust out of a doily harder than that!
The problem was that the reporter’s lips brushed Will’s. He might not have reacted the same way if it ended with the cheeks.
Some of you need to watch the video more carefully. The guy was trying to kiss Will Smith on the lips, and Will kept moving his head. If Will kept still, he would have landed a kiss on the mouth. And no one hugs the back of the neck of the person they’re trying to greet with two cheek kisses to pull them into it. Further, with the Madonna incident also under his belt, seems like this reporter is just trying to be outrageous to make the tabloids. I would have smacked him harder.

I get the custom, but they should also be aware of the north american way and that is we have bubbles. That’s too personal and what is Will Smith? An American and it’s not their custom. He might be visiting that country but shouldn’t it be us N.Americans if we feel comfy about the situation then partake in the customs?
Seems to me like this reporter was likely trying to create a story or maybe venture off into a Sasha Baron Cohen type scenario where he does stupid things to get recognized then convert to shock comedy.
