Crucial scene omitted from Fifty Shades of Grey

Fifty Shades of Grey posterIt’s probably been on everyone’s minds ever since it was announced that E.L. James’ bestselling erotic romance novel Fifty Shades of Grey would be hitting the big screen.

The infamous tampon moment.

If you’ve read the book, you’re already all too familiar with it. But if you haven’t, here’s a quick run-down: Caught up in steamy passion, Christian removes Ana’s – let’s just label it ‘feminine product’ for the sake of all you male readers – so they can have sex.

Director Sam Taylor-Johnson said this topic wasn’t even discussed, and it was never planned to have this moment from the book in the movie. Sam also said there was already a sense of too much sex. “The story, of course, is of equal importance,” Sam said. “We tried to balance the narrative correctly, so one doesn’t feel like it’s drowning the other. It’s the buildup that’s interesting. I feel that in movies, the minute there’s penetration, it’s all over.”

Toning down the sex scenes most likely contributed to the film’s R rating and helped to avoid the NC-17 label in the States.

Fifty Shades of Grey has been rated R (in the States – Canadian ratings still to come), meaning it won’t be as down-and-dirty as the book. The movie comes out just in time for Valentine’s Day. ~Sandra D. Sukraj

The movie will be NOTHING like the 3 books were. Too bad they are going to tone down the sex scenes.

I’m sure you could find some S and M porn that will fulfill that need if you wanna see more.

Tanisha..?? I don’t think this movie is going to be anything that you will be interested in. I hear you Bonnie. The 3 books’ content, although I felt they started slow, really are going to be hard to pin down with a movie. It will be interesting to see how the movie of the 1st book comes across.

Those books were so much more I had to read then in 3days. Amazing

Sad that people feel the need to watch or read about other people having , and even sadder is that anyone would find 50 Shades anything “special”. . .
Good Luck . . .I feel sorry for anyone who feels like they are missing anything – especially if a book as juvenile as this one gets them heated up…

Profoundly misogynistic, this smut has no place amongst cultured folk.

In another article they stated they won’t show Christian Grey full frontal(nude). So I’m not surprised that a lot of sex scenes from the book won’t be shown. Since the huge attraction of these books is the passionate colorful sex scenes, not showing them in the movie will be a huge disappointment to their fans.

I read the first chapter of the first book and could not get past how badly written it was. No way would I bother with this movie or anything else she writes

Books were trash, I can’t even begin to imagine what kind of trash the movie will be.

I agree with you Jude. What terrible writing, and the ending, really? T

I’m with Jude, I read the first bit of the book and gave up I couldn’t stand the writing. I didn’t even make it to a sex scene it was that bad.

Really people, You say the writing is trash but i don’t recall seeing anything from any of you. Maybe you are just jealous you don’t have a successful book out there.Get over your opinionated selves.

What I got from this trilogy (which I read twice) mainly was a fictional story which shows how love overcame incredible differences. There is so much controversy about the “kinky” sex because, even though it is an example of how many people live their lives, it is incomprehensible to most of us. We must remember that consenting adults have the right to live as they chose, as long as they are not breaking the law, and if a person doesn’t like it, don’t read the book or go to the movie.

Since when is the tampon scene, which I don’t even remember, crucial. Some needs to explain that to me. I have to agree with the negative thoughts. Yes, it was hot but the storyline was crap and in the real world, this guy would be on CSI escalating into the next Ted Bundy. He is all the things my mother warned me about. Letting a complete stranger tie you up? John Wayne Gacy would love that. EEK! Basing a relationship on sex? Not to mention giving the mistaken idea that you can change a man if you stick around long enough. How many of us have tried that? Take away the money and the looks and this guy is just another creep!
We are giving our young women some bad ideas, especially now when we are trying to empower them.

I feel bad for the ones who didn’t read these books. There is more to them the just the sex. there is a lovbe story between a good girl and a damaged man.

i meant then and love sorry for the typo’s

  17. faye • January 23, 2015 @ 9:26 PM

I agree the books were way more then sex and s & m it was about a man who conquered his awful childhood and became the upstanding man that most men don’t dream becoming. It’s a love story just like all the other books out there I don’t see anyone bashing those authors so keep your hating to yourself and keep the books coming.

I’m pretty sure I’m older than any one that commented. I did get through the first book and thought it was absolutely trash.

I read all three books and lent two out.. Its more then sex people.. I liked the love story it was fascinating, charming and I agree that it was about a young woman attracted to a rich guy and I hope the movie is as good as the first book.. Omg.. The movie comes out on my birthday.. Yay!

I thought I was the only one who couldn’t make it past the first couple of chapters; I found it so boring that I was skipping whole sections. I have read thousands of books, and believe me, it is a tedious read filled with the mundane and the inane. At least the first two chapters are.

I haven’t watch the movie yet but I will and the books were very good I read them twice so congratulations
