avril_lavigneAvril Lavigne has confirmed on her MySpace page that she’s split from her husband, Sum41 frontman Deryck Whibley, 27, after three years of marriage. “Deryck and I are separating and moving forward on a positive note,” wrote Lavigne, 24. “Thank you to all my family, friends and fans for all your support. Deryck and I have been together for six-and-a-half years. We have been friends since I was 17, started dating when I was 19, and married when I was 21. I am grateful for our time together, and I am grateful and blessed for our remaining friendship.” The two began dating in 2004 and were married in 2006. “She married too young and she finally realized that,” a source told People. “Avril realized she needs her own life and needs to explore things without him.”

    I won 200 bucks today.

I knew when she got married that it was gonna end rapidly. I’ll tell you why. About a year before Avril got married, she was sucked into the girlish fame that transformed her from punk rocker who hated dresses and preppiness, into everything that she used to hate. At first she hated popular girls, then when she became one of them, she couldn’t help but dye her hair pink, wear tutu’s, wear sparkly/glittery makeup, AND dress like a cabaret dancer in her videos.

Marrying this guy was just something to further feel ‘girly’ and ‘precious’, and she didn’t even realize it. This marriage was doomed. I don’t hate her, but she’s a turncoat to me.

She married way too early in her life. It is good that they have a strong friendship. Looking forward to her future music albums.

“I married too young”…sounds like another line. hmmm.wonder if the break up started out “it’s not you, it’s me”.
Why not just say it didn’t work out. She’s 21, been in the business and from what I’ve seen of her, she is quite mature. So I don’t think she was too young…just probably easier to say that instead of what really happened…they fell out of love, not happy, etc.

Angie: CONGRATS on the $200!!! Always nice to get free cash!

I agree. Avril used to be such a tom-boy and then, all of a sudden, she came out with ‘Girlfriend’ and in the video she was so…”girlie”, wearing tons of makeup; fishnets; skirts then wearing lots of pink. She used to always wear black. I don’t think she likes being tied down. She was too young. Now, she just wants to party. Deryck is more mature and isn’t into the partying scene much anymore. Well, I guess it just wasn’t meant to be. At least there are no children involved.

“at least there are no children involved”? why?

Hahaha…what a leech you are! Don’t you ever get sick of having to jump on every word I say? I said, “at least there are no children involved” BECAUSE separation/divorce is very hard on a child so what I am saying is that it is a good thing that they realized their differences BEFORE they had kids. Good enough for ya?

    nope and nope….

  9. tributegirl • September 30, 2009 @ 3:55 PM

    Of course not.

  10. Nancy • September 30, 2009 @ 4:12 PM

Exactly, Tributegirl! I guess Jo-WAnne would rather see 10 kids going through the divorce right along with Avril and Deryck. Big surprise there.

  11. Jo-Anne • September 30, 2009 @ 6:14 PM

    nope…again…

  12. Nancy • September 30, 2009 @ 7:43 PM

Well, you said “nope” that what I said wasn’t good enough for ya so…

  13. Jo-Anne • September 30, 2009 @ 9:09 PM

ah, but don’t foget the first “nope” was very much attached to “Dont you ever get sick of having to jump on every word I say? “…..

  14. Jo-Anne • October 1, 2009 @ 8:19 PM
