Charges dropped against Nicolas Cage

By Alexandra Heilbron on May 6, 2011 | 6 Comments

The charges against Nicolas Cage, 47, who was arrested and charged on suspicion of domestic abuse battery, disturbing the peace and public drunkenness in New Orleans last month, have been dropped — he will not face prosecution. “The New Orleans District Attorney has confirmed that no charges of any kind will be pursued against him,” Cage’s attorney attorney Harry Rosenberg told people.com. “After their investigation, the DAs refused all charges against Nick and the matter has been closed. We are pleased that the process led to the correct result, despite inaccurate media reports, and that Nick has been cleared and all charges have been dropped.” Duane Chapman of the reality TV series Dog the Bounty Hunter, who posted Cage’s $11,000 bond, should be happy to hear the news.

Yay for Cage. Now let’s see how much other mischief he can get himself into. Lately he’s been trying to be as popular as Sheen.

If that was domestic abuse, a lot of married men would be in jail now. He’s not the most stable person from what we read and hear but there’s hope for him yet. He’s capable of winning another Oscar if he starts choosing his scripts better. I know he needs the money but good movies pay well too.
