Chuck Lorre burns Charlie Sheen

By Alexandra Heilbron on September 28, 2011 | 15 Comments

In the vanity card (a statement seen during a show’s final credits – shown at left) that aired Monday night after Two and a Half Men, Chuck Lorre seemed to be making another dig at Charlie Sheen. Ironically, earlier in the day Warner Bros. and Lorre settled the lawsuit Sheen filed against them for wrongful dismissal. Sheen wanted $100 million, but will get $25 million. However, over the next seven years he’s projected to make another $100 million on residuals. In the vanity card, Lorre doesn’t refer to Sheen by name, but it was clear who he was talking about: “Sometime last year I realized I had become the unwilling contestant in a reality show. I didn’t understand the rules, wasn’t sure if there even were any, and pretty much hated every second of it. For many months I kept hoping and praying that it would end. But it did not. Somewhere along the way, something inside me died. Anyway, now, suddenly, I’m being told that the reality show’s been cancelled,” he said, referring to the settlement. He continued, “There’s just one problem. That thing inside me that died? It walks at night. It’s angry. It’s hungry. And worst of all…it’s writing a tell-all book.” Sheen has been contacting publishers regarding a book deal, but so far has had no luck, probably due to his demand for $10 million in advance.

Sounds like Charlie Sheen doesn’t need to worry about working to get money to keep his drug and prostitute addictions going.

After 2 episodes of 2 1/2 men, I’m not sure it will continue for more than this season. I don’t even know what to think of Sheen anymore. His name is overused and overexposed. It’s like a song you can’t get out of your head, he should take time off and get lost for a while. Lorre’s text only gived him more attention, bad move on his part.

My guess is….as part of settlement….Sheen cant make any “disparging” remarks against Lorre/Warner Bros.
The book will only tell Sheens side of the story.

I saw the Roast of Charlie Shen, and in no way was this a burn by comparison. Nice try though. I do agree that its just gonna fuel Charlies fire.

2 & 1/2 Men is jumping the shark already and it has only had 2 showings with the un-funny mr. demi moore, ashton…last season for that show unless the bring Charlie back to life…he WAS the whole show…the rest of the cast was filler.

Yeah this is like people who update facebook or BBM statuses with general comments but are clearly directed at someone in particular. Childish. BUT it’s smart because he can deny it and not be sued for lible.
And regarding the show. I thought maybe Jon Cryer could carry it, but I don’t think it’s working. I heard 28 million viewers watched it which was the most ever for the show even with Charlie. well it’s like any novelty, we want to see it for the first time and then decide..well I think the public is deciding. Let’s move on.

I think it has been a hard sell to punish a man who acts like the character he portrays and then gets in trouble for it. hmmm.

Why not bury the hatchet and bring back Charie (Sheen) as a ghost? – He could come back and talk to his brother and give advice all the time! They could have a haunted house episode for Halloween , where they have a SEANCE and talk to Charlie – it would be halarious!
It would be awesome if they actually did that and kept Kutcher in the show , hmmm, maybe i should be a writer!
