Emma Stone topless photo scandal

By Alexandra Heilbron on February 20, 2014 | 7 Comments

There’s a naked selfie making the rounds on the internet and some outlets are saying it’s The Amazing Spider-Man star Emma Stone. However, a source close to Emma flatly denies that it’s her. She has never done any fully naked scenes in any of her movie roles and she is apparently adamant that she didn’t pose for this one, although she hasn’t actually released a statement. It does look a lot like her, but we’re not sure Emma, who seems to be a pretty classy lady, would let something like this slip out of her hands so it could go viral. What do you think?

A big deal of absolutely no importance in the world at all

I love when people comment about how some of these stories have no importance. What were you expecting on an entertainment website, a pulitzer!?

As much as I’d welcome an Emma Stone topless selfie, looking carefully at THE FACE (easier to do with censor bars up) I’m 99% sure it’s not her. I can see the resemblance but Emma has very distinctive features and this girl’s eyes aren’t quite right (though she is lovely).

Another misleading headline from Tribute though – some chick that kinda looks like Emma posts a nude photo and suddenly it’s a “Emma Stone Topless Photo Scandal”? No.

    Fake!

So what it’s just breasts, not like it’s a picture with her legs spread wide open (if it even is her)

The scary responses are scary. The act itself is interesting. Why would she do that? Does it bother me? It’s a body. It’s nudity. It’s sex. All good things. End of the story. And that doesn’t mean that I don’t grasp the concept of boundaries. But when something like this is in the news (which, sadly, doesn’t tell us so much we need to know while our world burns), I just remind myself that at least, as bad as it is here in Canada/ US/ developed country of your choice, our girls aren’t not treated like animals and the personal possession of sick males. More power to those females here – Paris Hilton, Alyssa Milano, et al – who choose to enjoy their freedom and express their sexuality and kinkiness (when harmless).

Scandal? Even if it is a genuine picture of a celebrity (which seems doubtful) how is a single picture of bare breasts a scandal? Might I suggest checking a dictionary before grossly exaggerating a relatively common occurrence (not condemning or condoning said occurrences) as a scandal. If Emma says it not her, why doubt that? Surely an intelligent and likely tech-savvy young woman like this very talented actress would know how easily a pic like this would go viral on the internets. I might also suggest that you writers might want to do some of their own primary research, like contacting real people in the entertainment industry and filling us in on useful information that might add to our enjoyment of cinematic offerings.
