Felicity Huffman prison sentence begins October 25

Lori Loughlin's daughter Olivia Jade on InstagramFelicity Huffman, who was sentenced for her part in the college admissions scandal, will enter prison on October 25 to serve her 14 day sentence. The sentence also includes a year of supervised release, a fine of $30,000, and 250 hours of community service — which she has already begun.

Huffman, who received her sentence last Friday but was given time to decide when she would do her prison stint, was arrested by no less than seven FBI agents knocking on her door on March 12 at 6 a.m. — with guns drawn.

She admitted in court to paying $15,000 to have a stranger take her daughter Sophia’s SAT college entrance exam and apologized to the students, schools and parents who had been impacted by her actions. She added, “I am sorry to my daughter Sophia, and Georgia, and I am sorry to my husband, Will. I have betrayed them.” She said that Sophia had no knowledge of the scheme or her mother’s involvement in it.

Meanwhile, Lori Loughlin, along with her husband, designer Mossimo Giannulli, is charged with paying bribes of up to $500,000 to get their two daughters recruited to the University of Southern California crew team–despite the fact that they have never participated in the sport. Because she didn’t accept a plea deal and refused to admit her guilt, she faces up to 40 years in prison for conspiracy to commit mail and wire fraud and conspiracy to commit money laundering.

Their daughter Olivia Jade, who has admitted in the past she’s not academically inclined and would like to avoid school so she could concentrate on social media, doesn’t seem bothered by the allegations. Just over a week ago she posted a photo of herself smirking while flipping off the media, with two middle fingers extended, despite the fact that her parents’ lawyers begged her to stay off social media. The photo has since been deleted and her family is receiving heavy criticism for it.

Anyone wondering if Olivia will be quite as flippant if/when her parents are sentenced to several years in prison? ~Alexandra Heilbron

I didn’t know they allowed people to choose the start dates of their prison terms; that’s very considerate, actually.

Perhaps Ms.Hoffman’s daughter does not desire to be the center of negative comments in a massive media frenzy not of her doing & done without her knowledge. In other words LEAVE THE VICTUM ALONE! I was a fan of her mom’s acting but not of her parenting & 2 weeks in not enough. Ms.Hoffman may have really damaged her daughter& I think her own career. Her daughter did not have to be in a good school to get chances to act, HER MOM IS FALICTY HOFFMAN HER DAD WILLIAM H. MACY? come on. & for petty sake parents having been giving large sums of money to the Universities for ages to get a better shot for the kids to get in. This was different, her daughter had bad math scores,HOW would THAT affect her acting? lol…
Get the kid a TUTOR, gads, I’m not paying for Huffmans indescression.
SEnd the daughter to Europe to school, let her work hard like us all, to get ahead. Adversity, failure builds character& determination. I’m rooting for THE DAUGHTER, giving the finger? Let it go, prove yourself to yourself be the best you can be, remember the best revenge is success!

Maybe their kids should be removed from those respective schools because they CHEATED to get their way in. If that had been any of us we’d be serving heavy time for cheating alone, not get a slap on the wrist like they got.

Seems to me alot of people didn’t read the whole story. It was NOT Felicity Huffman’s daughter that was giving social media the finger.

Hey gri – I agree with everything you say – It’s Lori Loughlin’s daughter who is giving the finger on social media not Felicity Huffman (They needed a line or two to make that clear) – Sophia, Felicity Huffman’s daughter, Definitely could’ve used a tutor – Olivia jade seems like a privileged mean girl And if she’s the kind of person kids are aspiring to – I’m really sad for where the world is going

It is not Huffman’s daughter flipping everyone off. It is Loughlin’s daughter and she definitely knew that she cheated her way in. Both her daughter’s got in as recruits to the Rowing Team and never put a paddle in the water or attended a meet! You HAVE to know LOL!

Reg Huffman ; What ever happen to the person that took the test ? Because you know it’s not there first time and if they didn’t do it it couldn’t have happen ( ok someone else could have but they’d have to find them too ) it’s a business that need to be stoped more then one person using the service.

Reg Laughlin; 40yrs is excessive so I can see the deny deny deny it was they got excellent proof you did everything you’re saying always deny but if they got you to the wall time to get this and hope you get the lesser sentence clearly her lawyers think they don’t have enough
And talk about a waste your kids don’t even wanna go
And for whatever sentence she gets there that love should be spread around and broken up between her and her husband and her two kids I shared in the crime sharing the time
And I think for all the things they want to go after for racketeering really racketeering is absurd she offered money to coaches to get her kid in school busy kids were dumb it’s not the crime of the century nobody I killed no we get mean probably a couple kids didn’t get to go to school really deserve to go they should make them have to make a scholarship or grant so that two students every year it started get a full ride for four years tuition free books free housing food free for 10 years so distance of year for 10 years for your fuel for your ride
That way you’re punishing the parents in the family but you’re also helping people

C’mon, this kind of thing has been going on for YEARS in every university for every profession you can think of. Get a grip. Just because it’s a very common occurrence doesn’t make it right…BUT….clearly, they are making an example out of these people.
HUffman did not just get a slap on the wrist. 250 hrs of community work is equivalent to over six weeks of a full time job & having to pay $30K of her own money to work it — plus having to have her time outside of jail supervised. I’d say that really sucks. Besides — I haven’t heard of anything happening to the Proctor who accepted the $15K money bribe to “fix” her daughter’s test papers.

I’d like to raise another issue here that might even fall into the same category: What about the university students who try desperately to get a degree in the Arts so they can qualify to compete for careers in acting — but some actor’s kid “inherits” an occupation in the Hollywood Movie Kingdom without any acting credentials at all. How & why is THAT legal?? That’s the very same as a doctor’s kid being allowed to inherit a medical degree.

Kind of clear whose idiot daughter is pictured above. Someone above described her as a “privileged mean girl,” that seems to be right on the money. That picture of her makes her look like an anorexic 12 year old with an old, heavily made up face. Very strange she wants to portray herself this way. Obviously Loughlin has missed the boat on parenting skills, while Huffman and Macy are doing things better, at least their daughter is keeping quiet, and as classy as can be under the circumstances.

These colleges know exactly whats going on. The academia world is so corrupt. Sadly no press is rushing to write scathing articles about them. Felicity Huffman gets 14 days…..Lori Loughlin wont do much more.

I used to live in the Nashville and taught the Cyrus kids and several other famous kids. Talent scouts were always approaching me about my little boy who was quite cute and I was NEVER tempted to pull him or us into that world. Hes turned out humble and grateful and worked hard in college after growing up on teacher salaries. Hollywood and money corrupt.
