Lori Loughlin & Olivia JadeFormer Fuller House star Lori Loughlin has been sentenced to two months behind bars for her role in the college bribery scandal. Her husband, fashion designer Mossimo Giannulli, will serve five months in prison.

Loughlin and Giannulli were sentenced today in separate Zoom hearings. They pleaded guilty to paying half a million dollars in bribes to have their daughters admitted into the University of Southern California as part of the school’s crew team. They even went as far as faking photos of their daughters rowing because neither actually had any experience with the sport.

“I made an awful decision. I went along with a plan to give my daughters an unfair advantage in the college admissions process and in doing so I ignored my intuition and allowed myself to be swayed from my moral compass,” Loughlin said in her statement to the judge. “I have great faith in God and I believe in redemption and I will do everything in my power to redeem myself and use this experience as a catalyst to do good.”

Both Loughlin and Giannulli were charged with felony conspiracy to commit wire fraud and mail fraud. Giannulli was separately charged with honest services wire and mail fraud. They both originally pleaded not guilty but changed their plea this spring as part of a deal.

Under the deal, Loughlin will pay a $150,000 fine and perform 100 hours of community service. Giannulli will pay a $250,000 fine and perform 250 hours of community service. Both must surrender to federal prison by November 19, 2020.

The couple were just two of the 50 people involved in the case dubbed “Operation Varsity Blues.”  Desperate Housewives actress Felicity Huffman was sentenced to two weeks in prison last September after admitting to paying $15,000 to have her daughter’s SAT scores corrected and inflated. She served 11 days before being released. ~Brie Davis

I thought she’d get way more. This is pretty disappointing.

    Wow, privileged?

Privilege!? Don’t forget Huffman only did 2 weeks for doing the same thing!

Felicity Huffman didn’t do the same thing at all. She only offered $15 thousand in bribes and didn’t pretend her daughter was involved in sports that she’d never done. Loughlin and her husband paid half a million in bribes and basically made sure to shut anyone down who spoke up to say her kids were way too busy on instagram to be doing sports. Not only are they not athletically inclined, they’re not even academically inclined. In other words, two airheads.
