Holiday 2018 Gift Guide: Fashion, Style and Beauty

By Marriska Fernandes on November 30, 2018 | 5 Comments

We know there must be some special beauty and style lovers on your list who can be difficult to shop for, given the number of gift options out there. To help shop for these mavens, we put together our hot list of what we think will earn you brownie points. Some of these will be included in our 12 Days of Christmas Giveaway, so be sure to check back on December 3 for the first day of giveaways.

Gift of Relaxation: Mind and Body

Miraj Hammam Spa by CaudalieMiraj Hamma Spa
Something that everyone will appreciate is the gift of relaxation. Give the gift of self care with a treatment at the Moroccan-inspired Miraj Hammam Spa by Caudalie — it’ll transport them to another world without having to leave the city! I personally recommend the Hot Stone Aromatherapy Manicure and Pedicure. A hot stone massage with Hot Basalt Stones and Himalayan Salt Crystals couldn’t sound more relaxing and heavenly. Plus, we all need manicured nails before those holiday parties. So gift someone a trip to the Miraj Hammam Spa by Caudalie, $215. Make sure to follow us on instagram (@tributemovies) for our upcoming social media giveaway to the Miraj Hammam Spa!

Gift of Bling

For the bling lovers on your gift list, Swarovski has both dainty and extravagant pieces to spoil someone. The Peter Pilotto Arbol Necklace, multi-colored, Rose gold plating, $849, is a unique and expressive piece, resembling the architecture of nature with the abstract design. For the simple yet elegant jewelry fans, you could gift them the Iconic Swan Double Y Necklace, Black, Rose gold plating, $149. The iconic swan carries an effortlessly chic vibe. Who says money can’t buy happiness?

Jewelry lovers who are equally passionate about movies will love the Harry Potter themed ALEX AND ANI collection. The Hogwarts is My Home Two Tone Men’s Cuff, $58, or the PLATFORM 9 ¾ Two Tone Charm Bangle, $34, will cast a spell on anyone you gift it to.

Remember Buddy the Elf from the movie Elf? Well, you can gift the adorable Raised By Elves Charm Bangle, $46. Ain’t it cute? On another note, how about doing some good while shopping for yourself or a loved one? The Just Chill Charm Bangle, $46, is a shiny silver bracelet that features a hand-painted snowman charm. It benefits Toys for Tots, a program by the U.S. Marines that collects gifts at the holiday season and distributes them to disadvantaged kids.

You can’t go wrong with jewelry. Trust me on this one. Pandora has a selection of new holiday pieces that will warm your way into anyone’s heart. From holiday charms such as Santa Mickey Charm, $75, to the Dazzling Snowflake Charm, $100, there’s enough charm for the whole family. If that’s not enough, the new Pandora Reflexions Bracelet, $195, is sleek, smooth and elegant. It’s got the right amount of bling and as you know the saying, less is more. You’ll be her favorite person this holiday season.

For the Super Stylish Techies

Asus VivoBook S15ASUS
The Asus VivoBook S15 (S530), $899.99, is no ordinary laptop — it’s youthful, vivacious and has a dash of personality. It’s certainly for the style savvy individual. You can express yourself at school with a laptop that suits you — it comes in red, green yellow and silver. It weighs less than four pounds, fits in your backpack and the new NanoEdge display gives an even wider angle, making the browsing experience more satisfying. Any school student will love going back to school, making a style statement with this piece.

FitBit from Best BuyFitbit
Who says fitness can’t be fun and style savvy? The new Fitbit Charge 3 Special Edition, $219.99, will push anyone – fitness fanatic or not – to get moving. This Fitbit doesn’t just count steps. It also tracks your heart rate, calories burned, goal progress, sleep pattern, gets smartphone notifications and the built-in NFC technology makes it easy to make payments.

Google Pixel 3Google Pixel 3

Everyone wants the super stylish, high-functioning tech items on the market. But we all look at camera first. Don’t even kid yourself. The new Google Pixel 3, $799, has all the qualities you want in a phone —  including the new Night Sight feature, which captures well-lit photos even in dark settings. The second front-facing camera gives you access to regular and wide-angle lenses for all of your selfies. The Portrait Mode takes pics like a professional camera.

Even the Top Shot feature will be appreciated — it takes a bunch of photos just in case someone has their eyes closed so you can choose and keep the best pic. The Google Lens is also a really cool feature — you point to a product and you can get all the info about it — whether a landmark, a product or even an animal. This phone makes a great gift for someone who’s looking for an Android phone with stellar camera settings.

Gift of Comfort
BOGS FootwearBOGS Footwear
Gifting someone the warmest winter boots from BOGS Footwear will ensure you get warm hugs from that special person all year round. I mean, a solid pair of boots is a winter essential in Canada. BOGS has a wide selection of boots — from winter to rain to casual. Simply buy a gift card and you’re good to go. The Crandall Tall Insulated Boots, $170, are highly functional footwear for the roughest of winters. You can’t go wrong with this gift.

Cougar ShoesCougar Shoes
If you’re looking for a stylish pair of boots, Cougar has a wonderfully warm selection of footwear for winter — with a dash of elegance. From the incredibly stylish Danbury Leather Heeled Hiker Boot, $200, to the Shimmie Nylon winter boot for kids, $70, there are options for the whole family.

When it comes to comfort, we are all ears. Many of us appreciate a warm pair of mittens or socks to combat winter woes. Inspired by a classic Canadian knitting style, the Kombi Camp Unisex Knit Mitt, $29.95, or the Sherpa Cozy Fleece Sock, $29.95, are our top picks for gifting this season.

My Society Socks My Society Socks
Speaking of crazy love for socks, My Society Socks offers a subscription for men this holiday season. For every subscription of two funky pairs of socks that get delivered to you (or your guy) every month, a pair is donated to someone in need. Funky, fun and comfy, what else can they ask for?

For the Bad-Ass Stylista

Alpha IndustriesAlpha Industries
For the seriously savvy stylista in your life, this is the jacket to gift. Bombers are on-trend and many celebs including Gigi Hadid and Drake have been sporting the bomber style. Alpha’s MA-1 Blood Chit flight jacket, $220, is a classic flight jacket made for the military for over 40 years and features nylon flight satin outer shell with reversible orange nylon lining. It’s a two-in-one for the rock chic.

Le ChateauLe Chateau
Of course, a leather-like biker jacket is edgy and chic. We all have that rock star girl in our squad. She’s not easy to shop for. This Le Chateau Leather-Like Motorcycle Jacket, $119.95, looks like a million bucks without the price tag. Plus, she could always use this jacket to dress up like Jessica Jones and sport the devil-may-care attitude.

For the fiercely fashionable diva, give the gift of LOFT. From comfy sweaters to trendy overcoats, LOFT covers it all. The Leopard Print Faux Fur Funnel Neck Coat, $276.25, is the IT item I’d say she’ll choose. The sizes go from XXS to XXL. Cool meets glam, while braving the cold, of course.

Under Armour X Project RockUnder Armour X Project Rock

Did someone say Dwayne Johnson? The Rock’s collaboration with Under Armour, titled Project Rock, is such a hit with fans that many of the items are already sold out. So if you know a Rock fan who is also into fitness, give them a slice of Rock. The UA x Project Rock Respect Graphic T-Shirt for Men, $40, or the UA x Project Rock Double Knit Bomber, $110, for women are our top picks.

Poppy & PeoniesPoppy & Peonies
Any lady will appreciate a cute crossbody bag for the season. The Darling Blush bag, $99, features pearl embellishments that will go with any look she sports. It’s a great gift option for the style divas who like to keep it simple yet cute.

For the Makeup and Skin Care Junkies

The Body ShopThe Body Shop
Our go-to for all things skin care is The Body Shop. Their holiday collections are already in stores. The Peppermint Candy Cane Forest of Delights, $45, is a stellar gift set. I also highly recommend the Ultimate Facial Mask Experience Gift Set, $99. It has five deluxe-sized face masks: Amazonian Acai Energising Radiance Mask, British Rose Fresh Plumping Mask, Chinese Ginseng & Rice Clarifying Polishing Mask, Japanese Matcha Tea Pollution Clearing Mask and Himalayan Charcoal Purifying Glow Mask. Any lady will appreciate some at-home me-time spa options.

Rihanna’s Fenty Beauty line is not only a huge hit in the beauty market, but it also goes well on all skin tones. You can count on RiRi to deliver the chicest holiday pieces. The Killawatt Foil Freestyle Highlighter Palette, $67, offers hyper-metallic highlighters in a range of frost-inspired shades designed to make all skin tones pop. This gift set will bring all the holiday glam and none of the holiday drama (we hope).

Marc Jacobsmarc jacobs
Marc Jacobs beauty takes you to the shine factory for holiday 2018. The new limited-edition collection is glamorous and takes you back to the mod era. Glittery jewel tones, gold highlights and glam lips are front and center. Some of my favorites include See-quins Glam Glitter Eyeshadow, $35, Anything Go-Gos Mini Mascara & Lip Set, $26 and the O!Mega Glaze All-Over Foil Luminizer, $59. They make for great stocking stuffers and will make any makeup maven’s day.

One of my favorite brands of hair products is Moroccanoil. The new Color Complete Collection includes shampoo, conditioner and Protect & Prevent spray, which work together to maintain color vitality. For someone who loves to color their hair, the Complete Your Color Gift Set, $30, is a thoughtful and luxury item that they will adore. You’re welcome.

LUSH has the cutest bath bombs, soaps and gift sets — you’ll wish you could just eat them. I’m not even kidding. If you know a bath lover, then the Christmas Bathtime Favorites, $89.95, is highly recommended. Or you can just keep these for yourself and soak away the stress of holiday shopping. You could also shop for cute stocking stuffers like the Santa’s Belly jelly, $6.95. Ridiculously cute?

Sephora CollectionSephora Collection
If you know a beauty junkie, you probably know how many times they visit a Sephora store. So how about truly being their Santa Claus and gifting them some Sephora favorites like the Sephora Collection PRO Essential Brush Set: Rose Gold Edition, $219. It includes 12 brushes in an easel stand built into an on-the-go, zip-around pouch. Someone’s going to win Christmas this year.

Ole HenriksenOle Henriksen
Skin care enthusiasts cannot stop raving about Ole Henriksen and reasonably so. The products are effective and worth every cent. So for any beauty/skin care enthusiast, we recommended a gift set such as the Glow Brightly Radiance-Boosting Super Set, $60. It includes the fan favorite Truth Serum, Goodnight Glow Retin-ALT Sleeping Crème, Banana Bright Eye Crème ad C-Rush Brightening Gel Crème.

Nest Fragrances
Nest Fragrances

For the couple who has everything, maybe something to freshen up their home décor would be ideal. Nest Fragrances’ Petite Candle Trio, $85, includes three luxury scented festive candles with color, texture, and fragrance to enhance one’s home décor. The Sparkling Cassis infuses frosted cranberry, and wild fig, while the Holiday scent captures the aroma of a sparkling holiday season with a touch of vanilla and amber. The Birchwood Pine aroma is reminiscent of a majestic, winter forest. It is created by blending white pine, fir balsam, and birchwood over a base of rich musk and amber.

This gift guide wouldn’t be complete without mention of some fragrances for the holidays. The My Burberry Blush Gift Set, $110, includes a 50ml Eau de Parfum and a 75ml Bottle Lotion. It captures the essence of blossoming flowers and is a lovely gift set for friends and family.
