Lindsay Lohan taking an anti-stealing class

By Alexandra Heilbron on September 8, 2011 | 8 Comments

As part of her sentence for having stolen a $2,500 necklace from a high-end jewelry store, Lindsay Lohan was sentenced to take a shoplifting-alternative class to learn how not to steal. Barbara Staib, director of communications at the National Association of Shoplifting Prevention, explained to E!Online that thieves often feel a sense of entitlement, adding,”[Lindsay] would have to figure out why she thinks this way, why she thinks the rules don’t apply to her.” Staib outlined what shoplifters learn in the classes. “The classes we run are designed to help people if they are truly petty theft offenders, not professional shoplifters or people who shoplift to support a drug habit,” Staib said. “They’re shoplifting because of something going on with their lives, or something they perceive to be missing from their lives. In most cases, [offenders] view the stores as a big corporate entities with millions of billions of dollars. But you’re also hurting individuals. People who work at these stores could lose their jobs because of your actions.”

Don’t forget to stop by the clinic on your way to class to test your AIDS test. That might be the only test you took in your life that will be positive.

Maybe she should have gotten a Lindsay Loan to buy the necklace. Dork.

Ok take the class because you have to -don’t think it will change the fact that she thinks nothing is off limits to her

Really?! Maybe she needs to take an anti-living seminar. Useless. It’s where her life is heading anyway.

Well I’m one of the few who actually likes Lindsay and I feel sorry for her. Seems to me she’s one of these people who laugh on the outside while deep sadness is embedded on the inside. She didn’t steal because she didn’t have the money to pay, that’s for sure. She’s emotionally messed up, and in view of her relationship with her parents, I think she’s been emotionally deprived, a feeling and history that statistically, most shoplifters seem to have. I’m glad the judge sentenced her to “getting help”.
