New on DVD – Alien: Covenant, The Wall and more

Alien: CovenantCheck out this week’s new releases on DVD and Blu-ray, including sci-fi flick Alien: Covenant, family adventure Descendants 2, teen romance Everything, Everything, psychological thriller The Wall and more.

Alien: Covenant – The spaceship Covenant and its crew members travel to a remote planet on the far side of the galaxy in order to start a colony. Once there, they discover a beautiful paradise. But when team leader Daniels (Katherine Waterston) and the rest of the crew notice the extreme silence of the planet combined with no sign of life, it’s unnerving. It soon becomes clear there is something incredibly dangerous to human life on this otherwise beautiful planet.

Everything, Everything – Maddy (Amandla Stenberg) is a teenager who has spent her whole life indoors because she suffers from an immunodeficiency known as SCID. The only people she interacts with regularly are her mother, who is also her doctor, and her caretaker Carla. Maddie sees her new neighbor Olly (Nick Robinson) through the window and the two become friends, connecting through text messages. Soon, Maddie wants to leave her house and live her life, despite the possible consequences.

The Wall – 
An epic standoff takes place between an Iraqi sniper and two American soldiers (Aaron Taylor-Johnson, John Cena), armed only with regulation rifles. When one of the soldiers is critically injured and finds himself unable to move, the sniper has the Americans pinned down with nothing but a crumbling wall between them. Knowing their lives are on the line, the soldiers are mentally and physically tested under the harsh elements of the Middle Eastern desert, but their will to survive burns stronger than ever.

Descendants 2 – Mal (Dove Cameron), Carlos (Cameron Boyce), Evie (Sofia Carson) and Jay (Booboo Stewart) have taken up permanent residence in Auradon. Although the others are happy being good and making new friends, Mal is struggling. She doesn’t feel she can live up to her new image as King Ben’s (Mitchell Hope) girlfriend. When Ben discovers Mal is still using magic, they argue and Mal goes home to the Isle. Realizing they’ve let Mal down, her friends go after her, but run into trouble with the villain kids who were left behind.

How to be a Latin LoverAn aging “Latin lover” whose goal in life was to secure the high-rolling and luxurious lifestyle of a kept man, is suddenly dumped by his sugar mama. He finds himself moving back in with his estranged sister (Salma Hayek) and her nerdy son. He is forced to figure out how to fend for himself in a cruel world not meant for aging lovers.
