New on DVD: True Story, Insurgent and more

truestoryThis week offers a variety of home releases to keep you and your family entertained. Great films such as The Divergent Series: Insurgent and True Story highlight this week’s new DVDs.

Jonah Hill stars in True Story as journalist Michael Finkel, who has been contacted by an inmate named Christian Longo (James Franco). Longo was arrested for the murder of his family, and while on the run, used Michael Finkel’s name. Michael tries to put together the clues of the case in an attempt to find the truth about Christian Longo and if he is in fact guilty.

Following the events of the first film, The Divergent Series: Insurgent continues the story of Tris (Shailene Woodley) and Four (Theo James), who are on the run from Erudite leader Jeanine (Kate Winslet). They head back to Chicago to find out what the secret was that Tris’ parents died to protect as well as to find out why Jeanine wants so badly to capture Tris.

Barely Lethal tells the story of a teenage special ops agent (Hailee Steinfeld) who is desperate to have a normal life, friends and fun. She escapes the Academy where she’s always lived and takes on a new life as an exchange student named Megan from Regina, Saskatchewan. She quickly learns that navigating the treacherous waters of teenage life can be more difficult than international espionage.

A Little Chaos is about landscaper Sabine De Barra (Kate Winslet), who is hired by famous architect André Le Notre (Matthias Schoenaerts) to design one of the fountains at The Palace of Versailles. The two begin to fall for each other but must overcome obstacles that may be too great for them to handle.

In A Thousand Times Good Night, a daring photographer (Juliette Binoche) leaves her family behind to take dangerous, but important photos of war and evil in the world. She struggles with the reality of abandoning her family and questions whether or not the photos are worth her life.

When struggling college student (Robert Ri’chard) becomes desperate for money he decides to work at a male strip club. Chocolate City tells the story of just how dramatically his life changes after appearing on amateur night.

A man named Jon (Mads Mikkelsen) whose family was murdered is the focus of The Salvation. Jon is out for revenge against the gang that killed them and will stop at nothing. When the people of his town turn their backs on him, he decides to take the law into his own hands, throwing his morals out of the window.

Based on the bestselling novel, Child 44 tells the story of  Agent Leo Demidov (Tom Hardy), a loyal, ideological member of the Communist Party who carries out every order without question. After a series of children wind up dead, he arrests an innocent man. He is later ordered to arrest his wife as well, but refuses and instead flees, becoming an enemy of the state. He will risk it all to save his family and solve the murders.

A boy whose family is brutally murdered in The Dead Lands begins to learn the ancient Maori martial arts from a legendary warrior in order to enact vengeance on those who betrayed him and to bring peace to souls of his murdered family.

Into the Grizzly Maze is about a grizzly bear in Alaska who is believed to have killed people. The local sheriff (Thomas Jane) of a small Alaskan town and his estranged ex-con brother (James Marsden) find themselves on the run, hunted by the rogue grizzly bear. They will run and fight for their lives against one of nature’s most efficient killing machines.
