Simon Cowell bids farewell to Idol

By Alexandra Heilbron on December 24, 2009 | 19 Comments

Simon Cowell will be leaving American Idol in 2010. According to FemaleFirst, Cowell’s brother Tony claims the star will be ending his run on the series following the upcoming season. The tycoon, who is very influential in the music business, made waves on television when he became an American Idol judge in 2002. He quickly became the highest-paid television star in America, earning $75,000,000 last year. A press release has been prepared to confirm the rumors. Cowell intends to devote himself to the American version of X Factor, which will air in the United States beginning in 2011. The British star is hoping that the new show will be as successful as Idol has become. Cowell is currently a judge on Britain’s X Factor. ~Marie-Eve Corbeil

It just won’t be AI without you, Simon. Not even close. Oh well, have to start watching ‘X Factor’ instead.

For those with a sense of humor, click my name – Merry Christmas!

Agreed. When he’s not on it anymore, it won’t be entertaining. I’ll be watching X-Factor, I don’t think there’s an age limit on that one, so I’m looking forward to it, after all, if all these kinds of talent shows had age limits, we wouldn’t have heard Susan Boyle’s amazing voice.
