Simon Cowell named in divorce papers

Simon Cowell, 53, is not talking to media about the news that he is expecting a child with his real estate mogul friend’s wife. During a panel last night to promote The X Factor at the Television Critics Association Press Tour in Beverly Hills, a reporter congratulated Simon on Lauren Silverman’s pregnancy, to which Simon cheekily responded: “I haven’t read the newspapers. Am I missing something? Sorry. Unfortunately, I have to keep this private for the moment.” After the press conference, Simon assured reporters that he’ll eventually speak about the pregnancy, saying, “I really have to be sensitive here because there are a lot of people’s feelings involved.” Meanwhile, his friend Andrew Silverman, 37, and wife Lauren, 36, have both released statements about the affair and pregnancy. “My top priority is protecting my 7-year-old son while working to resolve all outstanding issues with my wife,” said Andrew, who filed divorce papers in New York two weeks ago listing adultery, with Simon being named as a co-respondent in the papers, as the reason. Lauren, who is reportedly 10 weeks pregnant with Simon’s child, released a separate statement saying: “I am committed to sorting things out with Andrew as amicably as possible to ensure the well-being of our son. I would hope for some space and privacy in order to work through this.” ~Alfonso Espina

I have lost a LOT of respect for Simon Cowell now that this has come out in the media. It disgusts me when people like him don’t respect the sanctity of marriage, and knowingly enter in an affair with a married person. He could have, and should have, simply walked away and chose to not get himself involved, even if this woman was throwing himself at him, but he didn’t. The fact that this man was Simon’s friend too makes it even more deplorable and disgusting. Some ‘friend’ you sure turned out to be, Mr. Cowell!!! And I hope he takes you and his soon to be ex-wife for every penny you have when it goes to court. You deserve everything that’s coming to you!!!
It takes two to tango and apparently their marriage had been broken down for some time. If you think about it nowadays, plenty of celebrities are “separated” from their spouses and in relationships or one night stands with other people (russell brand, kim kardashian etc etc). This is not new.
Why have enemies when you can have friends like Simon Cowell.
