Just kill it with fire

September 07, 2014

You've heard all the complaints, no need to rehash them here. If you people really want a new theatre, WHY are you still lining up down the street to hand over your cash at these ones? Stop going!

My kids will have NO "movie memories" in Whitehorse YT

August 29, 2014

I refuse to ever set foot in either of the theaters operated here in Whitehorse. The disgusting condition of the lobby, the seating area and the washrooms is completely offensive. My three kids are not allowed to go there, I won't pay or consent for them to sit in that filth. The cloud of Febreeze that was sprayed to mask the moldy wretched smell was bad on top of bad. The sticky floors, broken seats, failing bathrooms, wretched atmosphere has sealed it for me and my family. We will never go there. I'l wait to buy the DVD when it comes out or see it online. This CEO that was on CBC should come here and experience the junkyard filth he expects us to sit in to watch one of the second rate movies in the filth the manager provides for our location.

Decrepit Dingy Disgusting facility

August 25, 2014

We have lived in Yukon for 24 years. We have been hearing about new theatres for at least 15 years now and guess what', the price of constructing buildings has not NOR will it EVER become cheaper, so get with the program, folks, and join the Yukon in the 21st century. I would challenge the owners to sit through a movie to experience the ambiance we are treated to every time we walk through the doors. The seats are very uncomfortable and dirty, many are broken and yes the floors are always sticky and the theatre does not smell old, it smells like urine. Perhaps the Whitehorse theatres should be shut down; environmental Health inspections should occur on a biweekly basis. The Yukon is a beautiful place and quite frankly we should all be embarrassed to allow this type of facility to exist.

Should be condemned

August 24, 2014

Landmark Theatres runs the two theatres in Whitehorse, both are filthy, disgusting, and run down. Clearly Landmark has the lowest standards in the business.

Terrible response by Mr. Campbell to the CBC

August 22, 2014

Smell of old buildings. HA! Open up your Presidential pocket book and fly up Air North from Calgary to Whitehorse, unannounced as a surprise to have an true Landmark experience. Hell, you could do well on "Undercover Boss" show!! Easy to comment from far away. Bulldoze and level them both, or light a match, use whatever tiny amount the insurance company may give you and fly back with a suitcase of money and be done with the headaches. Landmark has been dragging for over ten years to build. Well, certainly any cheaper to build now, as compared to ten years ago….way to think it through and treat citizens, tourist like ‘valued customers'.

Smelly

August 22, 2014

OMG I took my daughter to a movie and she had to use puffers to get through it, finally I left. The smell was unbearable, and then they used air freshers to mask the odor. Never have returned since. Worst theatre I have been in. It is a pig pen of mess and odors.....

CBC news release

August 22, 2014

After refusing to go because of the discussing smell, sticky floors, broken seats and mice my daughter talked me into it two weeks ago. Well it was no better then I remembered.... I will not be talked into that again. I will not be giving my kids money to go either, just watch it when it comes out on Netflix.

Time to get your head out of the sand. I heard the interview on the radio this am claiming the theatres were fine. Your CEO should come up here and see for himself how disgusting they are. We and many of our friends have made the decision to just not go to movies in Whitehorse until a new facility is built. You mentioned that the cost of construction is too high. Your dreaming in technicolor if you think costs will decrease over time.
