Jesse Eisenberg says Oscar nomination was torture

Jesse Eisenberg has revealed that being nominated for an Oscar last year for his work in the critically-acclaimed movie The Social Network wasn’t much fun at all for him. “It’s a stressful experience. It feels like a lose/lose situation,” he told American-Statesman. “If you win, you have to make a speech, and that can go wrong, like you don’t thank the right person. And if you lose, you lose.” He added, “I don’t like dressing up. I feel like a child. I just feel stupid. I don’t want to seem ungrateful. It’s just that I have a pessimistic way of looking at things.” Jesse, who has a lot of nervous energy, admits he isn’t that fond of giving interviews either, saying, “Doing a lot of interviews makes you think twice before signing up for a movie.” He can currently be seen on the big screen in the comedy 30 Minutes or Less.

perhaps acting isn’t for you then…LOL

Well he’s an actor and a good one at that, he just doesn’t like everything that comes with it, which is sometimes understandable but you have to ask yourself, is your worst day as a rich famous actor better than your best day being an average Joe?

Good point, Germain. They don’t know when they have it good.

Ian, money isn’t everything but would you rather be rich or poor? It’s cliche to think that rich people are not happier because of their money but in reality, wouldn’t more money make your life better? Do you know that the #1 reason couples get divorced is money? If they didn’t have fights about money, they probably wouldn’t get divorced and ultimatly, be happier.

You can enjoy acting and be good at it and just not like certain aspects. I know someone who had nothing but great things to say about his new job. Then bam, he pointed out somethings that you just can’t escape, like office gossip and such. I asked, is the money worth it, he said yes. Each job, like each roll as an actor is slightly different. Aspects of it he might get used to and enjoy and parts of the job (like interviews) he might dislike now but get used to later. And of course, money helps. You need the $ or you wouldn’t work in the first place.

I totally understand what he’s saying being a celebrity can not be easy they pretty much don’t have a private life they do what they love yes they make a lot of money doing the job that they love but alot of them don’t let that get to their head and he seems like a really stand up guy I loved him in Zombieland so funny anyways being nominated for an Oscar everyone starts putting alot of pressure on them and watching their every move it has to freak them out I mean their every move is already being watched and photographed by the paparazi now it’s the industry if he wins or loses their all thinking whats he gonna do next? is gonna be shit or better?
