Scout Willis arrested in New York City

Scout Willis, daughter of Bruce Willis and Demi Moore was arrested in New York City on Monday. The 20-year-old Brown University student was allegedly caught drinking a beer at Union Square on Monday evening. When confronted, she reportedly gave police officers a fake ID with the name Katherine Kelly. After being questioned, she admitted that the first ID was not hers and was given to her by a friend. She then presented the officers with her real identification. She was arrested and charged with two misdemeanors — one for underage drinking and the violation of the open-container law and another for criminal impersonation. Her attorney reportedly told People that the charge was ridiculous, adding, “Everyone was her age once, and I don’t think this was the crime of the century.” Scout was later released without bail and is due back in court on July 31st. ~Stacy Raivich

Her lawyers statement is totally ridiculous. Not everyone lies to the cops at that age, and it shouldn’t matter if it’s the crime of the century. A crime’s a crime if you get caught.

    Good point, TheTruth.

It’s still a crime if you do not get caught, but seriously, lower the dammed drinking age from 21 to 18. It makes it look more attractive if it is prohibited. In Europe, one can drink with ones family in bars and other establishments. Drinking responsibly is key.How many other kids does this happen to that do not make the news?

Right on! Both TheTruth and Carol’s comments sum what I was going to say. It’s refreshing to finally see some comments on Tribute that actually make sense hahaha

Wow. This is news to people? Oh no 20 year old drinking beer. Unless she knocked out the cop and shouted a for diehard lines i dont think it really is a big deal.

Come to Canada where it’s 18 or 19 depending on the province. 20yrs old drinking, who cares.
But really she shouldn’t be the one drinking, it’s anyone who talks to her! Man she is ugly. Sorry, but wow.

Part of her problem might be the trouble her Mom has had with the break up of her husband. If the family is close (Mom and daughter) that would solve the problem.
The age of drinking in a College town matters not, but the false ID is sort of bad.
I think the daughter is doing good if a beer is all she takes when she was stressed out.

In Canada, if you live in Alberta it is 18 (in Mexico it’s 18) if you live in BC, it’s 19. She should of kept her mouth shut as to who she was, and the cops would of dismissed it. Because her trap decided to tell the truth, she deserves what she got!

Who in the world hasn’t drank under age??? Just because she is who she is makes it a media circus. A LOT of people borrow a friend’s ID to go out for a few drinks. No biggy here, the media is really “reaching” for something to write about.

In BC its 19(I never really looked, I thought it was 18)?? WOW! Eighteen is when you go on your own and have grown up to be an adult(and do what they do); so Why do certain people say that 19 is the age you can drink at??? I am So Flabbergasted that they say you can drink at Twenty-one in the States. Unbelievable!!
Also I’ve been wandering why no one questions why they say we can’t drink in public? I guess why we aren’t allowed to is because some people would take advantage of the situation, and drink anywhere They want to. And not Care what other people think of it.

You’re considered an adult at age 18. You’re old enough to vote and if you commit a crime you can be named publicly and convicted as an adult offender. If you’re an adult for everything else, then why not for a few drinks?? It’s ridiculous.

Theres 14 year olds these days who drink and have fake id’s. Were in the 21st century people, I don’t know a single teenager who doesn’t drink or do drugs, thats just how high school and college is nowadays and theres no reason to get arrested for it otherwise 90% of the teenage population would be as well.
