It’s the long weekend, which means there will be plenty of time to watch movies! Two wide releases are hitting theaters today — Kin starring James Franco, and Searching starring John Cho. Check them out below, as well as more movies that are opening in select cities. ~Alexandra Heilbron
Kin – An ex-con (Jack Reynor) goes on the run with his adopted younger brother when a violent and vengeful criminal (James Franco), to whom he owes an enormous sum of money, targets them. Luckily, his brother has an alien ray gun that only he can operate. Click here for showtimes.
Searching – When his teenage daughter goes missing, a father (John Cho) breaks into her laptop to look for clues. With the help of a detective (Debra Messing), he begins digging through his daughter’s search history and his hopes that she has merely run away are dashed as the evidence begins to point to the fact that something sinister could have happened. Juliet, Naked – Annie (Rose Byrne) has been in a 15-year relationship with Duncan (Chris O’Dowd), who never stops talking about his obsession — obscure rocker Tucker Crowe. Trench 11 – During WWI, the British army discovers an underground bunker constructed by Germans. The soldiers are horrified when they discover that not only have the Germans been conducting biological and chemical experiments on their own people, but the bunker has been sealed — not to keep people out, but to trap them inside.
