The Book of Clarence (January 12)
LaKeith Stanfield was a standout in the Oscar-winning horror film Get Out, and since then he’s been garnering acclaim for his lead roles in movies such as Knives Out, Judas and the Black Messiah and The Harder They Fall. In The Book of Clarence, he plays a man who’s captivated when he witnesses Jesus preaching peace and performing miracles. He decides to risk everything to carve a path to a divine existence. He’s accompanied by a stellar cast, including  Omar Sy, David Oyelowo, Alfre Woodard and James McAvoy.

Mean Girls (January 12)
Mean Girls, the 2004 hit comedy written by Tina Fey was turned into a musical that debuted on Broadway in 2018. Now, the musical is being brought to the big screen, with Tina Fey reprising her role as Mrs. Norbury. She also wrote the script for the musical update, which stars Angourie Rice in the role of Cady Heron (originally played by Lindsay Lohan), who joins a group of mean girls called The Plastics. Watch for Jon Hamm in the role of Coach Carr, and Jenna Fischer (The Office) as Cady’s mother.

Origin (January 19)
A nominee at numerous film festivals including the Venice Film Festival, this movie is about the fascinating journey of Pulitzer Prize-winning author Isabel Wilkerson (Aunjanaue Ellis-Taylor) as she digs into the nuance of discrimination. She travels to Germany and India for her research, which reveals that racism in America is actually not racism but caste, while writing what would become her New York Times bestselling book, Caste: The Origins of Our Discontents.

Argylle (February 2)
Elly Conway (Bryce Dallas Howard) is the reclusive author of a series of best-selling espionage novels, whose idea of bliss is a night at home with her computer and her cat, Alfie. But when the plots of Elly’s fictional books — which center on secret agent Argylle — begin to mirror the covert actions of a real-life spy organization, quiet evenings at home become a thing of the past.

The Promised Land (February 9)
Ludvig von Kahlen (Mads Mikkelsen), a former soldier, arrives in 1755 on the barren Jutland heath with a single goal: to follow the king’s call to cultivate the land and thereby achieve wealth and honor himself.
But Kahlen quickly makes an enemy. The merciless landowner, Frederik De Schinkel, who is sole ruler of the area, believes that the heath belongs to him and not to the king. When De Schinkel’s serf runs away with his wife seeks refuge with Kahlen, the landowner does everything to exact revenge.

Lisa Frankenstein (February 9)
Lisa (Kathryn Newton), a misunderstood teenager, falls for a statue at the grave of a young man (Cole Sprouse) who has been dead for many years. When his reanimated corpse comes out of his grave to meet her, they embark on a murderous journey to find love, happiness and a few missing body parts.

Madame Web (February 14)
In this standalone origin story of one of Marvel’s most enigmatic heroines, Cassandra Webb (Dakota Johnson) is a paramedic in Manhattan who suddenly discovers she has clairvoyant abilities. Forced to confront revelations about her past, she forges a relationship with three young women (Sydney Sweeney, Celeste O’Connor and Isabela Merced ) destined for powerful futures… if they can all survive a mysterious villain.

Drive-Away Dolls (February 23)
Jamie (Margaret Qualley), an uninhibited free spirit bemoaning yet another breakup with a girlfriend, and her demure friend Marian, embark on an impromptu road trip to Tallahassee, but things quickly go awry when they accidentally take off with stolen loot that a group of inept criminals would like to get back.

Dune: Part Two (March 1)
Paul Atreides (Timothée Chalamet) continues his family’s journey to destroy the Emperor of the Known Universe. Crossing paths with Chani (Zendaya) and the Fremen, they team up on a warpath of revenge for Paul’s family. With the knowledge of an upcoming war against the people that want him dead, Paul and Chani have to strengthen their defences and win for their own people.

The American Society of Magical Negroes (March 22)
A young Black man named Aren (Justice Smith) is recruited by an older member (David Alan Grier) into a secret society of magical Black people who dedicate their lives to a cause of utmost importance: making white people feel more comfortable and their lives easier.

Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire (March 22)
Callie Spengler (Carrie Coon) and her children, Phoebe (Mckenna Grace) and Trevor (Finn Wolfhard) return to where it all started — the iconic New York City firehouse — to team up with the original Ghostbusters (Dan Aykroyd, Bill Murray, Ernie Hudson and Annie Potts), who’ve developed a top-secret research lab.

Mickey 17 (TBD 2024)
Oscar-winning director Bong Joon-ho (Parasite) helms this sci-fi adventure starring Robert Pattinson as an astronaut sent to colonize an icy, far-away planet. When he’s killed in the line of duty, he gets copied with his memories intact, and a new version is sent to continue his work.

Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire (March 29)
The almighty Kong and the fearsome Godzilla are pitted against a colossal undiscovered threat hidden within our world, challenging their very existence — and our own. Starring Rebecca Hall, Brian Tyree Henry and Dan Stevens.

The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare (April 19)
Following his stint on Netflix’s The Witcher, Henry Cavill returns to the big screen. Although he missed out on reprising his role as Superman, he’ll be playing a starring role alongside Cary Elwes, Alex Pettyfer and Alan Ritchson in this film directed by Guy Ritchie, about a small group of highly-skilled soldiers recruited by the British military to strike against Nazi forces behind enemy lines during World War II.

Challengers (April 26)
Tashi Duncan (Zendaya), a former teenage tennis phenom who’s now a coach, has turned her husband, Art (Mike Faist), into a world-famous grand slam champion. To jolt him out of his recent losing streak, she makes him play a “Challenger” event, where he finds himself standing across the net from the once-promising, now burnt-out Patrick (Josh O’Connor) — his former best friend and Tashi’s former boyfriend.

Civil War (April 26)
In the near future, after 19 states secede from the union, the United States find themselves in the midst of rapidly escalating civil war. While the President (Nick Offerman) appears to be stoking the flames of dissent, a photojournalist (Kirsten Dunst) finds herself caught in war zones.

The Fall Guy (May 3)
Loosely based on the TV series from the 1980s starring Lee Majors, this action comedy stars Ryan Gosling as Colt Seavers, a former stuntman who investigates the disappearance of movie star Tom Ryder (Aaron Taylor-Johnson).

Back to Black (May 10)
Told from the singer’s point of view, this film looks at Amy Winehouse’s (Marisa Abela) rise to fame, troubled life and the release of her groundbreaking 2006 “Back to Black” album. Jack O’Connell plays her husband, Blake Civil-Fielder.

Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes (May 10)
Set several generations in the future following Caesar’s reign, apes are the dominant species living harmoniously and humans have been reduced to living in the shadows. As a new tyrannical ape leader (Kevin Durand) builds his empire, one young ape undertakes a harrowing journey that will cause him to question all he has known about the past and to make choices that will define a future for apes and humans alike.

IF (May 17)
IF stands for Imaginary Friend and the premise is that they don’t go away when their children grow up, they just hang around, hoping to befriend another kid. Although they’re invisible to nearly everyone, both an adult (Ryan Reynolds) and a girl (Cailey Fleming) can actually see them in this film and decide to team up to help. Directed by John Krasinski, IF features his former The Office castmate Steve Carell as the voice of a large purple IF.

Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga (May 24)
It’s been nine years since Mad Max: Fury Road — and now Mad Max fans get a prequel film based on the character Furiosa, starring Anya Taylor-Joy and Chris Hemsworth.

Ballerina (June 7)
John Wick fans have been eager for this spin-off about young female assassin Rooney (Ana de Armas). Trained in the traditions of the Ruska Roma, she seeks revenge against the people who killed her family. Watch for Keanu Reeves to make a cameo.

Bad Boys 4 (June 14)
Detectives Mike Lowrey (Will Smith) and Marcus Burnett (Martin Lawrence) team up on a new case, but that’s all we know so far as the plot is being kept under wraps, other than the fact that Vanessa Hudgens and Alexander Ludwig reprise their roles as Kelly and Dorn.

Inside Out 2 (June 14)
Riley, now a teenager, is dealing with new emotions, including Anxiety. Joy, Sadness, Anger, Fear and Disgust, who’ve long been running a successful operation by all accounts, aren’t sure how to feel when Anxiety shows up. And it looks like she’s not alone.

The Bikeriders (June 21)
Austin Butler has been hot commodity since he won a Golden Globe and a BAFTA for his star turn in the 2022 award-winning film Elvis. In addition to playing a major role in Dune: Part Two, he plays Benny, a young biker in a motorcycle gang in this crime drama, while Tom Hardy plays the gang’s leader Johnny.

Horizon: An American Saga (June 28)
Kevin Costner directed and co-wrote the screenplay for this two-part Western in which he plays a grizzled frontier man helping to tame the West four years after the end of the Civil War. The first chapter hits theaters on June 28, followed by Part 2 on August 16th.

A Quiet Place: Day One (June 28)
This prequel to John Krasinski’s A Quiet Place shows audiences how it all began, when aliens began taking over Earth and killing anything they could hear. None of the actors who played the Abbott family are expected to make appearances in this one, and Michael Sarnoski takes over directing and writing duties from Krasinkski (who keeps a hand in as one of the producers), but Djimon Hounsou reprises his character from A Quiet Place: Part II.

Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F (TBD 2024)
We’ve all been waiting years for Detroit’s streetwise detective, Axel Foley (Eddie Murphy), to return to Los Angeles and in 2024, our wish comes true. Axel returns to investigate the death of an old friend. He has a new partner (Joseph Gordon-Levitt) and his daughter is also along for the ride.

Despicable Me 4 (July 3)
It’s been a while since we were treated to a new Despicable Me movie. Although the plot is still unknown, Gru (Steve Carell) will return with Lucy (Kristen Wiig), his three little girls, and all those adorable Minions.

Twisters (July 19)
The sequel to Twister takes place 20 years later and introduces a world where weather is reported by an exact and seemingly infallible machine, making meteorology and storm chasing essentially obsolete. When a series of fierce and unpredictable storms proves to be beyond the machine’s abilities, three storm chasers dive into the field to find out what they can.

Deadpool 3 (July 26)
Although the exact plot details haven’t been released, this sequel will see Deadpool (Ryan Reynolds) and Wolverine (Hugh Jackman) team up, along with Elektra (Jennifer Garner). With all the hilarious instagram stories we’ve been seeing from Reynolds and Jackman, this is a movie we definitely want to see as soon as it releases!

Janet Planet (TBD 2024)
This movie garnered a lot of buzz at the Telluride and New York Film Festivals last year. It’s about an 11-year-old girl named Lacy (Zoe Ziegler) who decides not to go to summer camp so she can hang around at home with her hippie mother, Janet (Julianne Nicholson), who goes through a number of lovers. The imaginative Lacy tries to make sense of the confusing, complicated adult world.

Borderlands (August 9)
Based on one of the best-selling videogame franchises of all time, the movie follows Lilith (Cate Blanchett), an infamous treasure hunter who reluctantly returns to her home planet of Pandora to find the missing daughter of Atlas. She forms an unexpected alliance with a ragtag team of misfits — Roland (Kevin Hart), once a highly respected soldier, but now desperate for redemption; Tiny Tina (Ariana Greenblatt), a feral pre-teen demolitionist; Tannis (Jamie Lee Curtis), the scientist who’s seen it all; and Claptrap (Jack Black), a smart-aleck robot.

Kraven the Hunter (August 30)
One of the original villains in Spider-Man’s early days, Kraven now gets a solo movie, prior to him meeting Spider-Man. Aaron Taylor-Johnson plays Russian immigrant Sergei Kravinoff (a.k.a. Kraven) in this origin story.

Beetlejuice 2 (September 6)
Finally a sequel to the hit movie Beetlejuice! Tim Burton and Michael Keaton reunite with Catherine O’Hara as Delia Deetz and Winona Ryder as Lydia Deetz. Joining the cast is Jenna Ortega, who wowed Netflix audiences in Wednesday.

Transformers One (September 13)
This latest installment in the Transformers franchise is an origin story set on Cybertron, home of both the Autobots and the Decepticons. The film is rumored to focus on the relationship between Optimus Prime and Megatron.

Wolfs (September 20)
We’ve been waiting a long time for George Clooney and Brad Pitt to co-star in a new movie. In Wolfs (original title: Wolves), they play lone wolf professional “fixers” who discover to their dismay that they’ve both been hired to do the same job.

Joker: Folie à Deux (October 4)
Joaquin Phoenix is joined by Lady Gaga as Harley Quinn in the sequel to the award-winning Joker (for which Joaquin won an Oscar. Todd Phillips returns as the director, but the plot has been kept under wraps.

Venom 3 (November 8)
It’s too early in the year for there to be much information about the plot of the third Venom movie starring Tom Hardy, but what we’re especially excited about is Juno Temple (Ted Lasso) joining the cast.

Alto Knights (November 15)
Robert De Niro stars in this mob crime drama — with himself. Directed by Barry Levinson, this film is about Mafia bosses Vito Genovese (De Niro) and Frank Costello (also played by De Niro) who run separate crime families. Genovese decides he needs to have Costello assassinated, so he can be the top dog.

Gladiator 2 (November 22)
Ridley Scott offers audiences a sequel to his 2000 Oscar-winning film, which follows Lucius Verus (Paul Mescal), the son of Maximus’ love Lucilla, after Maximus’ death. Denzel Washington and Pedro Pascal also play roles in this swords and sandals pic.

Wicked: Part 1 (November 27)
The Tony-award winning Broadway musical Wicked comes to the big screen in two parts. A prequel to The Wizard of Oz, it stars Cynthia Erivo as Elphaba and Ariana Grande as Glinda (roles played by Idina Menzel and Kristin Chenoweth in the original stage production). Bridgerton’s Jonathan Bailey, who once played Gavroche in the West End production of Les Misérables, stars as Fiyero. Part 2 will hit the big screen in 2025.

The Lord of the Rings: The War of the Rohirrim (December 13)
This big screen animated adaptation is based on a story told in the appendices of the novel The Lord of the Rings. Set 261 years before the events of The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring, it tells the tale of Helm Hammerhand (Brian Cox), a legendary King of Rohan who must defend against an army of Dunlendings.

Mufasa: The Lion King (December 20)
Barry Jenkins directs this prequel to Disney’s 2019 The Lion King remake. The new film explores the origins of Simba’s father Mufasa, while teaching his new cub to follow in his footsteps. With Pharrell Williams, Hans Zimmer and Nicholas Britell providing the music, expect some catchy new tunes from this production.

Nosferatu (December 25)
Bill Skarsgård plays the vampire Count Orlok and Lily-Rose Depp is Ellen Hutter, with whom Orlok is infatuated. Nicholas Hoult and Willem Dafoe also play roles in this fantasy/horror film.
